So, given the present circumstances things are on hold.
I am rather under attack & have had to amend my blog because of threats of legal action. My husband and my best friend both advised to give in to this rather than go to court. I want to have a family, have a positive environmental impact & a positive influence on the world. I can accept that some people just don’t like me or what I want to do, and my choice is to keep away from them. I’m not going to spend my time interracting with people who want to fight with me. The end goal is about preventing climate change and increasing levels of accessibility in our society. This is far, far more important than my individual rights and opinions. So, here I am.
Because of immediate cash flow considerations, I’m temping. Now in a 9to5 job in an office, part of a huge organisation. It really is a chance to see how the other half live. I’m so used to directing my own work, with no interruptions, or encouragement… it’s quite a change to only need to do what you are told to… and leave at the same time every afternoon.
I’m sure it’s just because I’m new… but I’m only here for a couple of weeks! Now… how can I best meet my environmental concerns in the time I’m here. I really like the fact that my work can go with me - as long as I have Internet access!
I’m going to look up the new round of SMART funding that eco3 told me about.

It’s crunch time. In order to pay the rent, I need to work. Work that’s paid! Therefore I’m now registered with a temp agency & about to sell my soul for £6.50 an hour.
I’ve registered with Dragon’s Den now. The reasoning is that I really, really believe that bog will be profitable and successful, and can make a very positive impact on the lives of wheelchair users, as well as others such as carers of adults with learning disabilities. It’s important to get the product out there, however I do it. Though I’d like to keep 51% of the business simply because that meets the working definition of a female entrepreneur! The third green drinks was held last night at The Anchor, in Digbeth. As well as Dragan & Nicola from the enviro-entrepreneur summer school, Paul Early from the green roof consultancy, some friends of the earth members and PHD students made it along.
The Anchor is a good venue - with plenty of tables & a relatively quiet back room - as well as an alarming array of ciders, bitters & lagers and an inexpensive food menu.
There is no car park, but on street parking is available near by on Bradford street. The venue is also nearly attached to Digbeth coach station, and accessible by bus and train. Those present seemed happy that the next event should also be at The Anchor. That’ll be the 3rd of October.
For the next event, please could the first people to arrive tell the bar staff that they are with green drinks. Thanks.

Just found a site with instructions on how to make cider.
The barns of Novy Mlyn used to be a starch factory. They grew potatoes, pressed them… etc.
The valley in which Novy Mlyn sits is full of apple trees. When we were there a couple of weeks ago, there were windfall apples everywhere. Czech’s don’t have a cider drink. Perhaps we could make one. All this would be a lot easier if the barns hadn’t fallen on the equipment, so we’ve no idea what’s there, and what can be salvaged and used as a cider press.
I just wish I was there this morning so that I could poke about, and try and work out what’s what.
