Online shops, stalls, car shares & grazed knees.

So… progress on the following fronts:

  1. Local manufacturer of high visibility gear contacted in regard to manufacturing bag covers with slogans. I’ve arranged a meeting 1st week December - & need to check that ‘on your bike’ will stock them.
  2. Onya bags bulk order placed for Moseley Bazaar (and recycled wool scarves started!)
  3. Ebay sellers account - low water shower auction set up with nice template
  4. Quote requested for Biodiesel stickers

A general question, does anyone know if there is an existing car share system for people in Birmingham wanting to use Biodiesel? Please contact me if you would be interested in joining/setting up such a scheme.

My husband was using the ‘needing a car for meetings’ excuse for not cycling/walking to work himself.  But… how often do you need to go to a meeting without knowing about it in advance?  I am increasingly going to need to travel to meetings. There’s only so far you can go on a bike & I’m really not yet fit enough to cycle AND look professional at the other end.  So a biodiesel car share would be perfect for me - and my husband!!! I wonder if I can get in contact with people who’ve set such a thing up before.  I wonder if any of the sustainable transport people at Birmingham City Council would be interested in taking part in such a scheme? Hmm.

So… over recent weeks I’ve seen loads of teenage boys and young men on the road on bikes with no lights, dark clothing & hoodies. Of course this is incredibly dangerous, but how do you get teenager boys to wear high visibility clothing?  How about through a high vis back pack cover with a rude slogan written on it? (especially one which is only properly visible when it’s dark). Maybe these would be a good Christmas gift for people who are otherwise hard to buy for.

I came off my bike again today.  Now I have a distinctly unladylike graze on my knee. When will all of this result in weight loss.  My colleague came up with some good bag slogans - ‘burn fat not oil’ etc.  How am I going to decide which ones to get printed up?  Maybe I can sell them & get them printed after.
