Friday feeling
The journey to my temp job provides excellent thinking time, and the cycling is becoming almost second nature now… I definitely don’t ache as much as I did last month. Unfortunately, my front light broke, so I’ve been investigating battery free lighting alternatives - I found a product called pedalite - which looks fantastic.
Also, two sites which make dynamo type lights - but using magnets instead of a physical connection. This is the same type of technology which is used in the futurenergy wind turbines, so I’m looking forward to giving it a go. One company is based in Denmark (reelights)& is not quite set up to distribute in the UK as their product is designed for cycling on the other side of the road. The other is slightly less ‘designed’ and has more the feel of an eccentric experiment - also with a much lower cost - www.freelights.co.uk. I’m looking forward to having a go - and was wondering if I could rig up my fairy lights to it as well! Anyway, I’ll be able to stock the reelights in my online shop & Ebay once they’re up and running, so that’s good, and I’ve already listed pedalite on Ebay to see how much interest there is.
I will be able to look at the freelights to see if there’s a way of adapting the technology to make electricity from falling rainwater. Sometimes I wish I was an electrician.
This week I also received a letter with a request that someone work shadow me. I don’t know how happy my temp job employers would be about that. Some time in the future, when I have an office & insurance etc.
So, things I was thinking about on the way to work… I wonder if anyone has started making stories or games to go in sat nav systems.
Well, I’m booked in to do the Saturday Flea at the Custard Factory tomorrow. The Onya bags arrived today so I have some stock. I cycled over to a customer on Wednesday night as I wanted to ensure that their Onya bags arrived in time for them to send some to France. He advised me not to call myself ‘the bag lady’ over the phone. We’ll have to see how it goes with these. I’ve 95 in stock, I need to keep some back anyway, and hopefully the rest will go either on Ebay or at the flea market. It’s quite a different kettle of ballgames dealing with physical rather than intellectual stock. Good practice for bog though.
www.gs1uk.org - details of the website I need to contact in order to have Onya bags on Amazon.
The drawbacks of thinking and cycling - a, traffic. b, forgetting your ideas.
