Sunday too close to Christmas

Argh! Yesterday was a disaster. Life imitating art, almost word for word from The Streets. If Id stayed in bed all day, I would have been £4 better off. As it was, Mike & I spent the whole day running a stall at the flea market. This wasn’t in the reception at the Custard Factory, unfortunately. Instead we were in a disused shop premises round the corner. There were no potential customers. We were positioned at the back with the hardcore 80’s vintage stalls, only visited by the early twenty something fashionista. And they certainly aren’t looking for something quite so practical as Onya Bags – and I suspect that they wouldn’t really buy enough food in one go to actually need a bag to put it in. The only sale I made was to an accompanying parent who had seen an article in the Guardian – probably the same one I’d seen about Onya Bags.

On the plus side, the organiser, Missy, was brilliant. Really helpful & professional. We were provided with mulled wine & mince pies, the other stall holders were really welcoming, and I had some clear time to write my Christmas cards (last posting day yesterday!). At least two sold on Ebay while I was huddled over my inappropriate stall. If only I’d been selling legwarmers instead.

Anyway, now at least I have stock to fulfill any Ebay orders for the forseeable future.

I was thinking… maybe I should put an ad onto Ebay for an exercise bike which uses the magnetic electricity generator to add electricity through a grid tie thingy to your house. I could at least guage interest in it, and maybe even drive traffic to the other items on the 500 year vision ebay shop. Hmm. If I put the price really high – then at least if someone bought it, we’d have the resources to actually build the thing. Maybe a good project for the Christmas hols.

So, the Internet is broken again today. Even the cureall of switching the router off and on doesn’t seem to be having much of an effect today. It’s been unreliable ever since Stupido jumped on the bed earlier. I blame her. I was just in the middle of trying out the Royal Mail – print your own stamps function. I’m not sure if I’m going to be able to use this for my Ebay account because I need proof of postage. Surely Royal Mail are thinking up a way round this so that I don’t waste their time by continually using the post office counter? You would have thought so.

Anyway, we have friends coming round for a meal in a bit, therefore the house needs tidying. I set Roomba off in the lounge. It’s still working really well – though we had to replace a bit a year into use. I would love to stock the product in my ebay shop because it uses so much less electricity than a Hoover or Dyson. I think it fits the bill of ’small change = big change> climate change’. I’ll investigate at some point.

Right. In a desperate attempt to fix things, I’m going to restart my computer, restart the router, and get dressed.
