Green Checklist
A list of lifestyle adaptations I live by:
- Cycle to work (with dynamo lights)
- Drink french wine, not australian (less food miles!!!)
- All low energy lightbulbs (where possible)
- Boil only the water I need
- Onya bags - no plastic bags
- Reduced water shower head
- Sort waste (compost, reuse, recycle)
- Use rechargeable batteries
- Compensate for flights via carbon footprinting
- Switch tv off when not in use
- Shower/bath water butt.
- NO solo car journeys
- Soap, not shower gel
- Ecover products (washing powder/washing up liquid)
- Vinegar & lavendar oil for cleaning bathroom/kitchen surfaces
- Renewable energy supplier
- Milk delivered in glass bottles (no nasty leachy plastics)
Hmm, will carry on thinking. Must try Mooncups (a woman thing). Also, I need to try biodiesel (while cycling to work I think I go past biodiesel powered vehicles, and they actually smell nice. There are plenty of restaurants in town which don’t change their oil often enough - we had a meal at the Green Room on Hurst Street on friday night & the oil in their fryers was bitter - perfect for biodiesel, not chips.) Wonder if you can get diesel powered 1980’s Skodas?
