We will work towards our ‘500 year vision’ by encouraging long term thinking in business and society. 500 year vision will provide opportunities for anyone to make a positive impact on our custodianship of the creation. From registering your support for our mandate to making every possible lifestyle adaptation considered helpful by the current scientific consensus on climate change.
We do not affiliate with any political or religious group. No matter what your world view, we hope we can help you have a positive impact on your society.
Why 500 years?
500 years is the timespan in which one human being could be a direct descendent of every other human being on the planet. Anyone involved in researching family trees will know how wide they become in only a few generations (the beauty of an exponential curve: 2,4,8,16, 32, 64…). We see it in the faces of strangers… our genetic history is not such a distant thing. So, in theory at least, in 500 years time there could be a person who is the direct descendent of everyone now living on planet earth. A shared grand child to us all. What would we want their lives to be like? If we could harness even a fraction of the overwhelming feelings experienced by families towards their new offspring, our vision would be completely achievable. In society and in business, if we could all remember to be a bit more long term in our thinking, it may just be possible for humanity to get there.
